Reviewer Guidelines

KLAUSULA: Jurnal Hukum Tata Negara, Hukum Administrasi, Pidana dan Perdata

Reviewers play an essential role in maintaining the academic quality and integrity of KLAUSULA. Reviews should be independent, confidential, constructive, timely, and based on scholarly criteria relevant to legal research.

Before Accepting a Review

  • Confirm that the manuscript is within your area of expertise.
  • Check whether you can complete the review within the requested period.
  • Declare any actual or potential conflict of interest.
  • Decline the assignment if independence or confidentiality cannot be maintained.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts, reviewer forms, editorial correspondence, and unpublished information must be treated as confidential. Reviewers must not share, reproduce, or use manuscript content outside the review process.

Evaluation Criteria

  • relevance to the journal's focus and scope;
  • clarity and significance of the legal problem;
  • originality and scholarly contribution;
  • appropriateness of research method and legal approach;
  • quality of legal reasoning and argumentation;
  • accuracy and adequacy of legislation, cases, and scholarly references;
  • coherence between findings, discussion, and conclusions;
  • clarity of writing and organization.

Writing the Review

  • Be specific, respectful, and constructive.
  • Distinguish major issues from minor editorial corrections.
  • Explain the basis for significant criticism.
  • Avoid personal remarks or unsupported judgments.
  • Do not request irrelevant citations or citations intended to benefit the reviewer.

Reviewer Recommendation

Reviewers may provide a recommendation according to the options available in the OJS workflow. Typical recommendations include:

  • Accept Submission — suitable for publication without substantive revision;
  • Revisions Required / Minor Revision — limited changes are needed;
  • Resubmit for Review / Major Revision — substantial revision and further assessment are required;
  • Decline Submission — the manuscript does not meet the required scholarly or editorial standard.

Double-Blind Review

KLAUSULA applies a double-blind peer-review process. Reviewers should not attempt to identify authors and should avoid including identifying information in their comments. Any accidental disclosure of identity or other concern should be reported to the editor.

Important Note

The editor makes the final publication decision. Reviewer recommendations are an important part of the editorial assessment but do not, by themselves, constitute the final decision.
