Publication Ethics

KLAUSULA: Jurnal Hukum Tata Negara, Hukum Administrasi, Pidana dan Perdata

KLAUSULA is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, fairness, accountability, and academic independence throughout the publication process. Editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher are expected to uphold ethical standards from submission and peer review through editorial decision, production, and post-publication handling.

Duties of Editors

  • Evaluate manuscripts fairly on academic merit, relevance, originality, and contribution.
  • Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts and reviewer information.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest and reassign manuscripts where independence may be compromised.
  • Base decisions on scholarly quality and reviewer recommendations, not personal or institutional interests.
  • Respond appropriately to ethical concerns, complaints, corrections, and allegations of misconduct.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based comments.
  • Accept assignments only when the manuscript falls within their competence.
  • Maintain confidentiality and do not use unpublished material for personal benefit.
  • Declare conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
  • Identify significant weaknesses, unsupported claims, or relevant references that may have been overlooked.

Duties of Authors

  • Submit original work that is not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere.
  • Provide accurate legal sources, data, citations, references, and research information.
  • Acknowledge all sources and contributions appropriately.
  • Disclose funding, competing interests, and relevant relationships where applicable.
  • Correct significant errors and respond to editorial or reviewer comments in good faith.

Duties of the Publisher

  • Support editorial independence and responsible scholarly communication.
  • Maintain published content and journal records appropriately.
  • Support corrective action when publication ethics issues arise.
  • Ensure that commercial considerations do not determine editorial decisions.

Core Ethical Principles

  • Originality and proper attribution;
  • transparent authorship and contributorship;
  • confidentiality during peer review;
  • independence of editorial decisions;
  • responsible handling of conflicts of interest;
  • correction of the scholarly record when necessary;
  • prohibition of fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, and manipulation of citations or review.

Post-Publication Responsibility

Ethical responsibility continues after publication. When credible concerns are raised, KLAUSULA may review the published record and issue a correction, clarification, expression of concern, withdrawal, or retraction as appropriate to the nature and severity of the problem.
