Performa Produksi Dan Kelayakan Usaha Peternakan Ayam Pedaging Yang Ditambahkan Probiotik Bakteri Asam Laktat
PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS VIABILITY OF BROILER CHICKEN FARMING SUPPLEMENTED WITH LACTIC ACID BACTERIA PROBIOTICS
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penambahan probiotik berbasis bakteri asam laktat dalam air minum terhadap performa produksi dan kelayakan usaha ayam pedaging pada sistem kandang open house. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada empat kandang, masing-masing berisi 5.000 ekor ayam pedaging, dengan empat perlakuan: tanpa probiotik (kontrol), penambahan probiotik dosis 0,5 ml/liter, 1 ml/liter, dan 2 ml/liter air minum. Parameter yang diamati meliputi bobot badan akhir, feed conversion ratio (FCR), indeks performa, deplesi, Break Even Point (BEP) harga dan unit, R/C ratio, dan Payback Period (PP). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan probiotik dosis 1 ml/liter menghasilkan performa terbaik, ditandai dengan bobot badan tertinggi (2.31 g), FCR terendah (1,43), indeks performa tertinggi (434), serta tingkat deplesi terendah (2,70%). Selain itu, kelayakan usaha juga meningkat, dengan nilai R/C ratio sebesar 1,34 dan Payback Period tercepat yaitu 1,71 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan probiotik dosis 1 ml/liter air minum merupakan strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi dan profitabilitas usaha peternakan ayam pedaging pada sistem kandang open house.
