Abstract

Innovation is an important key in regional development. Through innovation, regions can increase productivity, competitiveness and community welfare. Innovation allows disadvantaged areas to become more competitive. Regions are considered the key to effective innovation system performance. Tulungagung Regency has received the regional innovation title as an “Innovative region” from 2021 to 2024 accompanied by positive developments in the regional innovation score but has not succeeded in increasing its title to become a “very innovative region”. This qualitative research conducted a case study on the Tulungagung Regency Innovation and Technology Festival 2024 using the diffusion of innovation theory in an effort to increase the regional innovation index of Tulungagung Regency. The results of the research show that the Innovation and Technology Festival has been implemented well, 70% of which has implemented the diffusion of innovation, however, it is noted that there is an evaluation of improvements that need to be made in the implementation of subsequent activities in order to optimize the impact and contribute directly to increasing the innovation index of Tulungagung Regency.
