Abstract

Hot spot at a substation equipment connection point of the State Electricity Company (PLN), is one of the parameters that are monitored and analyzed changes at all times. Monitoring of heat point clamps connected equipment by PLN using thermovision method. One important object trait in temperature measurement using thermovision methods is emissivity. For this reason, the thermal imager tool is equipped with an emissivity regulation function to match the object's measured emission to obtain the correct object temperature. However, in many cases, objects are measured more than one with different emissivity. Thus, differences in the emissivity of thermal imagers and objects are inevitable. Automatically, measurement errors occur that can lead to incorrect analysis and hypotheses. Based on the role of this thermovision, the researchers conducted testing of several types of clamp samples installed in substations PT. PLN (Persero) to determine its emissivity value. The results showed the thermal imager tool has an accuracy value against the emissivity value reading of 97.67 % at 20 W clamp power and 97.07% at 100 W clamp power.
